Location
Torquay, Devon
Completed
2018
A decaying walkway in a prime location on the ‘English Riviera’ is revitalised to help make the most of the scenery.
With both the deck and subframe constructed from timber, the walkway overlooking the historic WWII slipways at Torquay Marina had well and truly reached the end of its life and the local council was forced to close the area to the public as a safety measure.
Every year the area welcomes massive amounts of tourists, particularly over the Summer months. The deck needed to be replaced in preparation for the significant levels of incoming foot traffic.
System Used
A high-performance TerraSmart® Aluminium was used on the project.
Complete with DS38 aluminium joist and RDA self-levelling decking pedestals with ‘click-head’ component, which allow joists to be quickly and simply clicked into place, no need for fixing.
Strong Support System
A beautiful location that was let down by a failing timber substructure was given new life using strong, sturdy supports from RYNO, which are guaranteed to last through many Summers to come.
